How to use landing pages to drive traffic to your website

Use landing pages to help potential customers find your business and find exactly what they’re looking for.

Why landing pages? A well structured and well optimised landing page tailored for your specific product or service is a great way to drive traffic to your website and helps convert those visitors into paying customers.

So how do you do that?

People are searching for a product or service that you provide, you can build landing pages help them find it.

Once you’ve helped them find what they were looking for, don’t distract them. Instead, make it easy to get what they came for.

We live in an age where distraction is everywhere, with social media notifications, popups and ads all fighting for our attention.

Your website visitor has found you through searching for that one thing, don’t ask them to buy anything else or do something else, let them get what they came for.

Build landing pages that make it clear and easy for visitors to take the next step, whether that’s by making a booking, purchasing a product or downloading something, keep it simple.

How to use landing pages to drive traffic to your website

Why are landing pages different from your main website?

The goal of a landing page is to convert your visitor. Your landing page should give your visitor exactly what they want. That could be downloading an an e-book, booking a service, signing up for your event etc. in exchange for their information, like their name and email address.

Well designed landing pages work so well because they take the visitor through a process and have clear and easy call to actions.

Three ingredients to landing pages that convert:

  • Remove outbound links: don’t distract your visitor with links, get rid of them
  • Use clear CTAs (calls-to-action): If you want the user to sign up or make a purchase, make it clear and easy to see, don’t hide a button somewhere.
  • Make it mobile-friendly: It’s 2018, this should go without saying but sadly not everyone does this. Make sure your landing page works on all devices.

Some of our clients have had great results with this method, through generating new leads and having more customers find them through search engines.

If you prefer the do-it-yourself option you can get started with landing page builders from the likes of unbounce.com and leadpages.net or if you want help with generating more leads from your website get in touch to see how we can start your landing pages campaign.
