“Be Careful What You Share” – that’s the very clear message being sent out to the 400k registered nurses in the UK about the dangers of what they post on social networks.
The majority of NHS staff are likely to be aware that they could face disciplinary action being taken over comments on Twitter and Facebook.
Now the Nursing & Midwifery Council has provided guidance to its members. They have been told not to post provocative photos or abusive comments about patients as it could result in them being struck off.
The NMC says that nurses are never off-duty; it’s a 24/7 job. The advice is to have fun but think before you post.
