An online marketing strategy is a must for any photographer. With so many social networks out there we’ve put together a list of 10 Social Networks For Photographers that we think are great to get you going online.
A fantastic social network for those who are passionate about visual media. You can store and organise your photos as well as network with other photographers.
Another great and massively popular social network that allows you to share your photos to a massive amount of users. Easily group together photos on different boards. A great marketing tool for many busineeses, Pinterest is especially useful for photographers, graphic designers, interior designers, landscape gardeners, fashion designers etc.
Since it was launched in October 2010 Instagram has rapidly become the world’s largest photo sharing (and video sharing) network with over 100 million users across the globe.
It may not boast the editing tools of the other services BUT what better place to show off your skills to potential customers than a Facebook Page for your photography business.
Picasa is Google’s own software and another service that allows you to organise, edit and share your photos online. You’ll need a Google account.
Not a site I’ve personally had a great deal of experience of but a site that is raved about by some of my colleagues and another site that is handy for lots of online storage. Part storage, part social network with monthly competitions.
A great community for photographers, 500PX is full of stunning photos, has unlimited storage and also allows you to sell your photos. Well worth a look.
Full of helpful tips for photographers of all levels as well as contests and product reviews.
Not a social network but we love PIXLR. Fanstastic and free web based and app based editing tools allow you to edit images online or on the move.
Another photo sharing and storage service that has been around since 2003. Photobucket allows users to easily embed their photos around the web. Photobucket has evolved over the years and has added it’s own printing service, Print Shop.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our list, now go out, get snapping and start sharing your photos.
Please feel free to share and remember:
• Sign up and start showcasing your work to the world
